'03 Impala headlights won't work... Need advice..
Hello all,
Im new to this site as of today. I thought I'd give this a try and see if anyone could help. My wife and I both own Impalas. I have a 04 and she has a 03. She woke me this morning telling me that she didn't have any headlights. After looking at it, all the lights work except the headlights. I drove it into town early this morning and the daytime running lights did come on. When you pull the switch to turn the lights on the headlights dont work at all. The daytime running lights worked until the switch is pulled. Also, the daytime running lights seem to work on and off. I went out a little while ago and the daytime running lights won't come on. Also, the multi-switch on the column that works the high beam/low beam doesn't click when you pull it in for the high beam. My 04 always clicks when I pull it in. I don't know anything really mechanically on cars. I did look at the fuses and they seemed fine. Anyone have any ideas as to what would cause this? Thanks in advance, _Lloyd |

not sure about the high beam clicking problem, but the rest might be due to a bad relay or drl switch.

sometimes those switches are hard, with mine you have to pull much harder than you would have to expect to get it to click. As for the headlights check for relays or blown fuse, not familiar with wht they have yet as I haven't had the trouble.

Re: '03 Impala headlights won't work... Need advice..
Hello,
Thanks to all for the help. My wife told me that the lights went out when she changed from high beam to low beam. Also, that the MFS was supposeto click. I have fooled with it on and off all day. I can't get it to click anymore. So, I called a couple dealers and I get the same thing. "Sounds like the MFS is bad".... I have heard of these things causing trouble for years. Luckily my wife has extended warranty on the car. They said it would cover the switch. I'll post back tomorrow with the results... Thanks again all.... Oh yea, the cost to replace the switch is $600 plus dollars..... _Lloyd |
