THe driver side rear door of our CRV is stuck cloed. It seems the locking mechanism is frozen. When I attempt to unlock it will not respond. I can see that the lock will move slightly, but release. Any ideas?

Re: Rear door stuck CR-V
I seem to have this issue starting. I dont have an answer, but, did bring this up to the dealer. I have an '06 crv that I did tell the dealer on my 10K service to fix an issue on the same door...kind of sticks, but, opens.

U might be amazed .. but an electrician can do it!
Honda door closing mechanism is half electric half mechanic.. sometimes there is a faulty cut-out and replacing it solves the problem,, if u can hear sounds but no movemnet, then maybe some springs inside are broken or displaced... hope this is helpful... Good luck |

Re: Rear door stuck CR-V
Hi,
I seem to have the same problem with my 1998 CR-V. The rear passenger door lock is frozen and we can't seem to get the door open to take it apart. Any ideas on how to get the door open? We worked for 2 hours on it with no luck. We turned the power off, but that didn't help (it seems to be stuck on the mechanical side). We can't seem to get the door panel off with the door closed. It seems like some weird mechanical catch 22. I would appreciate any insight on how to get the door open! Thanks, Christopher |
