transmission type???

my friend has a 95 rs with a manny tranny, and he needs a new one. does the model year differ in the trannies. what about gs gs-t or gsx trannies, or avenger and neons, or any 420a car are their trannies compatible? or is it strictly 95 for 95 and rs for rs. how much can he expect to spend to have the new tranny installed? thanks

Re: transmission type???

You need a 420a tranny for that car. That's the only one that will work with it. The GST and the GSX use the 4g63 motor.

You can use the neon, aveneger, eclipse gs & rs, talon esi. Just make sure it fits the 420a motor.

Who says that?

David is correct on his response.
