fuel injector problems

I recently purchased a 1996 metro hatchback from my neighbor for 100 bucks, a deal, although it was running poorly. the fuel injector has recently started working sporatically, thinking it need to be changed I purchased one from a junkyard for $10, this is a good junkyard with el-cheapo pick & pull parts. I installed the new injector and now the injector works great, too good infact, upon turning the ignition on, it starts dumping fuel down the throttle body. the same as another posters problem above. I did check the wiring harness for a grounded wire, but no avail. The computer check found no codes in the computer. I am stumped.
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated

Re: fuel injector problems

olympicvideo;

Welcome to AF! While I haven't had this problem (yet) it appears from reading a number of other posts there are two probable causes for this issue.

1) High fuel pressure often caused by a blocked return line. Check your fuel pressure and the return line to the gas tank.
2) Bad MAP sensor as seen recently by Doctorbill http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbul...613410&page=42

You will find the search forum function a great help; just remember that people name things differently.

When you figure out what caused your issue be sure to post the fix so we can all learn from it. Good Luck!
