94 Intrepid lost it's marbles

this is a good one I have a 94 Intrepid ES and the climate control has gone wacky there is no option other then auto I set the fan and the temp to high and then after a few minites the fan will go to low the ac light will come on it will change from defrost to heat or whatever it feels like wich makes it difacult to defrost the windows I checked the fuses in the car and there good what can I do now any help would be greatly appreciated

get a new head unit from the junk yard. I had the same problem. Smack the front of it and I bet it straightens out for a bit.

the head unit is the box with all of the knobs on it. It is screwed into the dash and has two connectors. I am assuming that you have the computerized version. I have found that when mine went bad I could wack it directly on the fan knob, straight back with my travel mug, and it would pop back into compliance. But of course with all easy answers in life this one runs out too. In my experience it is cheaper to go to the bone yard and try your luck until you get one that does not need to be wacked now and again.

Of course, for all I know there could be another underlying problem.
