Talking Gear Ratio Change

I know I know I'm filled with good questions.. lol Has anyone rebuilt their tranny with different gear ratios? Thus, a ratio promoting sport and torque. I'd love to hear the details. THX

Re: Gear Ratio Change

I dont know of anyone here that has, but I do know its possible and that people with our transmission do it quite often.

I do think however, that it requires some PCM reprogramming, which isnt really an option on the Shortstar, so you would have to find the PCM from a car with the 3.29 gear ratio.

Im not 100% sure about the PCM change being necessary though, you might check out some other forums of cars that use the 4T65-E and see what needs to be done, I wont recommend any publicly but cars to consider would be the Bonneville,Grand Prix, Regal, Impala, Monte Carlo, etc..

If what you find doesnt appeal to you, you might consider getting a shift kit from www.Intense-racing.com they make a shift kit for the 4T65-E that should work for the Intrigue just fine, I considered one but never sprung for it.
