2007 Yukon XL/ Denali XL

I am considering purchasing a new or used Yukon XL or Yukon Denali XL and I wonder about a few things:

1) I would like to be able to remove the third row seat and fold down the second row seat to allow me to sleep comfortably in the back ocassionally on a flat surface at least 6 1/2 feet long. Can this be done or is the surface unlevel and not going to be flat enough and long enough to sleep on?

2) I have heard that the all wheel drive that the Denali comes with is not as good on a sandy beach as the 4wd that comes on the Yukon. I'd probably rather get the best traction package. And I have a big boat to tow - (10,000LB+) so the 3/4 ton option on the Yukon sounds good. Too bad the Denali with the bigger engine doesn't have the 3/4 ton option.

3) Besides the chrome and woodgrain accents and honeycomb grill the Denali comes with, is there anything else missing in the Yukon version? I like the honeycomb grill looks and I've heard I could change the grill on the Yukon to the honeycomb style so that's probably no big deal.

Yukon is 352HP, Denali is 380HP, Escalade is 403HP, Denali is 1/2 ton, Yukon is 3/4 ton, unsure about the Escalade's axle sizes. I want the truck with the most balls for towing. I think Yukon XL may be it because of the 3/4 ton axle even though the Denali has a bigger engine. But I love the Denalis and Escalades.
Helpful thoughts and opinions welcome!

Re: 2007 Yukon XL/ Denali XL

I have an 07 Yukon. The floor is not flat as it was in my 95 Suburban. The floor drops down under the 2nd row seat area. The 3rd row seat tracks are not flat either. You really need to go check it out on a vehicle.

I think the Yukon is only 325 HP not 352HP. The floor on the 07's are not quite as flat as previous years. Definately take a look for yourself. Even in the older generation Yukons you would have to put cardboard or some padding down before sleeping on the foor.

Re: 2007 Yukon XL/ Denali XL

An air mattress works great in the back on a Yukon XL or Suburban.....
