88 crx hf won't stay running

I got a 88 crx with a 1.5L engine. I spray starting fluid in the intake manifold and it will start and run for a minute. I give it gas and it boggs than dies. I't will only start with the starting fluid. I put a new head gasket on it because i found water in the 2nd cylinder. A new fuel filter I tought it my be backed up. The computer was throwing a code 6 before i replaced the head gasket but now its throwing no code.
