I need to run a power wire from aftermarket amp thru firewall to battery. Have had my head both under the dash (driver side) and in the engine compartment, and have come to conclusion I'll have to drill my own hole thru firewall. I like a spot near where hood cable goes thru firewall but given all that clutter, there is no way I'll be able to get a drill and grommet near this spot! Does anyone have any suggestions? Does anyone know if it would be worth all the aggravation to take apart the dash on the passenger side or is there likely to be just as much clutter? Many Thanks.

Re: '06 ford 500: Where is best place to drill thru firewall to run power wire?
Normally their is a rubber groumet where the computer wiring harness comes through the fire wall. You can use an owl and make a small hole next to the wiring harness.

Re: '06 ford 500: Where is best place to drill thru firewall to run power wire?
remove the cowl - on the left side of the vehile there is a large harness with 4 studs attatching it to the vehicle - you can pull this up and run the wires through here - just be sure to rtv the hole to prevent leaks - also harder to get to but the antenna wire runs on the pass. side and has a rubber grommet you can go through - but again make sure to seal the hole well
