Got bored, tried something, it worked.

I was sick of the puny output of tiny speakers int he doors so I went through the removal process, did some measuring, found my old titanium 8" subs, put them in my doors. Now running 140 watts to each off a puny RF amp, they sound much better and produce a upfront bass to help equalize the sound in the car.

That's an 8" sub? Your doors probably rattle like a bitch now.

Little more bass that I'd want. I think my 12" W6v2's will do the trick.

I expected the rattle to be hell but I had some extra dynamat laying around so i just put it all over, it's only rattle is when i'm hitting like full volume and even then it's barely noticeable with the fusion power plant 12" in the back overpowering everything lol.

Noticable from the inside, or also the outside? I find it annoying when people think they're hot shit when they pound their subs, but all I hear is a rattle. Boo.

Ha ha. Sounds system FTL just extra weight. My car isnt even going to have a CD player.

Seriously though, looks good, but how do you get any mid's or highs up there with a fuckin sub in your door?

Both, they handle 600 peak but i only have a quarter of that going to them. I don't want an extreme amount coming from them due to the plastic clearance on the panel and the woofers drive. jack up the woofer with maximum out put and if it always dropped bottom.

It sounds a lot better, 100x's better over the stock system i'd say. but thats just me and maybe my stock system was shot when I got it lol.

Easy, RF tweeters in the door panel, scope out just below the door handle.

Thats all you are running for mid's and high's up there? Damn son, I would get some components in those doors. Or atleast a two speaker component and wire it to leave the sub there, some 3 speaker systems IIRC are 8" 5" and 1". I miss audio .

I do have the Xplod 6X9's behind the heads, the 1" tweets in the door, 8" sub in the doors, the 2" tweeters up front which seem to work really well, and the Fusion power plant 12" in the back. No need for any 5 1/4 or 6 1/2. I get optimum sound for what I prefer which is little to no mid, a small amount of high and a shit load of bass

Interesting... I wonder if that would work w/a 1g... I'm going to be taking my windows out to tint them soon, maybe I'll give it a try... (doubtful, I'm broke)

For the most part. I have like 2 inches left I can't roll all the way down. The mounting depth is almost as deep as the speaker buckets on the 8's.

I'm sure I could modify the door panel and extend the sub out about an inch as far as mounting depth goes and have a custom grill or something made up then it would alllow the window full clearanc but for now, it's winter and I don't care to have it down heh.

Re: Got bored, tried something, it worked.

There's a tech article on tuners about how to put 8's in your doors. He made a little bracket to mount it out farther. Look it up if you want, it's pretty cool.
