Were looking at towing a "ultra-lite" pop-up tent camp trailer with our 2002 Spectra GS, 1.8L, w/auto transaxel. These are the units that are towed by "motorcycles". KIA Customer Service says "no towing" period
I can't imagine that if a motorcycle can tow these units, why can't a "CAR"?? Has anyone towed like a "motorcycle trailer" with trail or Moto-X bikes on it with a 2002 Spectra?? Thanks for any help, suggestions, comments, ect.

Howdy David, is your Mentor 1.8 a older or newer version, I've been told the 2006 KIA Spectra 5 has a 2000 LBS. towing capablility. I'm wondering if it's the "AGE" of my Spectra GS (2002), that makes it's incompatiable with towing and also if it's because it's got a "automatic transaxle" instead of a "manual transaxle"?? These pop up tent ultra-lite campers are less than 500 lbs. unloaded and even with added gear should be way less than 1000 lbs. total. Thanks for the info. BTW, is a "caravan" a travel trailer??
