Trunk Wont Open

Ok well the other night i had to play hockey and went to open the trunk with the key and for somr reason it wouldn't work. at first i thought mabye my dad had gave me back the wrong key after my car was in the shop. Because my brother has a 97 sunfire and his keys open my doors but don't start the car. but that wasn't it either i had the right keys and they still don't open the trunk i put some anti seeze lock stuff in the hole but that allso didn't work any ideas

Re: Trunk Wont Open

wow, if the sunfire key opens your doors i dont feel like my car is safe anymore, i realize they are the same type of key but that should not open your doors. im going to try and open some friends cars with my keys lol

Re: Trunk Wont Open

this happened to me...i sprayed a good amount of wd40 (watch the overflow and your paint with the straw thingy directly into the keyhole and used the key a few turns. it worked after that, haven't had another problem in over a year. hopefully it works for you

Re: Trunk Wont Open

Thats the exact problem I have with my cavy, the key dont work in the trunk and since my remote is broken (along with my engine lol) the only way to get into the trunk is through the backseat.

Re: Trunk Wont Open

Go thru the back seat and check out the trunk release mechanish...

Mine has a plastic bracket that was damaged by something loose in the trunk bashing into it. I had to change the bracket.
