Turn signal wand
Is it likely that my cruise control only working when it wants to is related to the signal switch being bad (much like the taillight problems, etc.?)

Possibly. The most likely cause for that one is if the wires are not connecting/shorting out. You would have to check the wire connections to be sure. Be careful, though. From what I remember, the wand is placed behind the airbag system. This means that you have to use a special tool to remove/relpace it and you must take extreme care that you don't set it off. Not only is it expensive, but it you are in it's path, it's gonna leave a mark.
