Mazda6 vs Hyundai Tiburon vs Honda Civic

My dad is looking for a new car. Hes looking at the Mazda 6 Sport Sedan, Hyundai Tiburon GS, and Honda Civic non Si. Hes using it for commuting to work do he needs something reliable, gas friendly and somewhat robust.

I recommended the Civic but I have the feeling hes looking for something a little more upscale. Im a little worried about the Tiburon because of the harsh ride, and the Mazdas unknown reliability. Hes not looking for a rocket, just something better than his 2000 Chrysler Sebring Conv. (nothing but problems)

Re: Mazda6 vs Hyundai Tiburon vs Honda Civic

the mazda is a considerably bigger car than both the civic and tiburon so if it's size you need then this is it, unless the ford mondeo is available in your market.
of the other two, i'd say it's down to what you want, hatchback or coupe.
the civic gets my vote if it's the newest model mainly because it is such a nice design. Too bad it's a dumbed down car from the last gen though (although the type-r is looking promising)
the tiburon is a very nice looking car, especially the newest facelift. engines are a bit lacking though, even the V6.

Re: Mazda6 vs Hyundai Tiburon vs Honda Civic

i'd go for the civic as well. better gas mileage and a better rep for reliability than the 6 and tiburon, more practical with more room than the tiburon. makes a very good commuter car. i think the new civics are a big improvement over the previous. i say civic

Re: Mazda6 vs Hyundai Tiburon vs Honda Civic

Mazda hands down. None of the cars mentioned are really in the same class.
