Serpentine tensioner replacement
I am going to replace the tensioner on my 2003 Ranger XLT 3.0. I was just wondering if there were any special tools needed or any tricks to getting it done right. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Re: Serpentine tensioner replacement
Scott:
It's simple to replace that component. I suggest to remove any crossover components to allow clear access to the unit. I believe you need a 3/8 socket bar to overcome the spring and remove the serpentine belt. I have a complete OE repair manual but if you get one of those Chilton repair book it explains the procedure clearly. Don |
