1998 Dies When Running
I am at the point of no return. I have spent thousands on this problem. Had it with GM, left the car with various independants, had fuel pressure checks etc.
The car runs great and then dies for no reason, no fault code shows up. After it dies it re-starts no problem. Has anyone experienced this? |

Sounds like a relay problem.

Re: 1998 Dies When Running
I have five words for you! Change the Crank Position Sensor! Acts just like you describe. Will not throw a code. If you have changed it already check the wiring and the cam position sensor. But the CPS should do the trick.

Re: 1998 Dies When Running
I replaced the Crank Position sensor. I will try the Cam sensor, wiring and also Grounds, and Ingnition module connecitons.
Thanks |

Re: 1998 Dies When Running
I had this impossible to find problem on a 95 Bonny ran a new wire from the Engine block to the H frame and problem went away. Not Engine to negative of battery or other battery ground connection. Before adding wire you could check block to H frame resistance if only 1 - 15 Ohms the engine ground is fine. Mine was 30 Mega Ohms of resistance before replacing wire, and solving the dying problem.

I know its my fuel pump because right before it dies, i hear a strange "farting" noise out of the tank (the pump) then it dies as soon as i come up to the next light. But it starts right back up. |
