Door Handle

Hi - I have a 1995 530i and on a very cold morning when I opened the door from the inside the handle would not open the door. I had to roll down the window and reach to the outside handle to get out. Is this a cable that needs to be replaced? A switch or fuse? Just not sure.

Also, I have noticed a small coolant leak and a little smell of coolant when I run the heater. The leak appears to be coming from the front of the car, around the radiator but I am not sure at this time.

Any suggestions, ideas? I appreciate your input!!
