My 01 Impala & My Pep Boys Experiece.help plz

I took in my o1 to get a intake manifold gasket replaced they also replaced the cover gasket and the thermostat, so i picked up my car from pep boys and about 10 miles later on the freeway theres all this smoke(stean actually) coming out of my car,i take the firs exit and as im getting off the fwy i see the temp needle going all the way upall the way and at that point i have chance to pull aside n turn off my engine,so i wait to the steam to go away n I inspect my car with a flashlight its a bout 9 pm at this point, and i see a meatl hose disconected from the manifold intake, n i can tell they just recently put black silicone stuf on it, so i call the pepboys tow truck service the y have n they take my car back to the shop, this morning when i went in to tell them what hadhappened the mgr said without checkn the car that I should of changed the wer pump when the WP was never mentioned in the first inspection, nor is it on the recomendations of my paperwork, my point is are tey gonna try to cover what seems like their mistake by blaming it on something else when the hose is clearly disconnected or maybe never placed back proprly?N the tow service do u think i should be responsible to pay for it if it was there mistake after all i had just left their shopand i specificly asked the mechanic if my car was ok to be driven n said dat it was good to go, please help im not to much of a car expert n need help thank u

What was it doing before the repair?
Was intake leaking or any other problems?
If they replace the intake gasket and told you it was fixed I would say everything is on there dime to fix.
They should have drove and tested the car before letting you have it back.
At this point they should inspect it and find the problem and let you know what it needs to fix it.
Watch them with both eyes and ears.
I can not say for sure without seeing it or looking at it or checking it But.
It sounds like they messed something up on the intake repair.
Find out what they say or find on it and report back.
And we will try to help.
What engine does it have in it?

Re: My 01 Impala & My Pep Boys Experiece.help plz

thank you for ur advice, actually i took it in because it started leaking alot of coolant from the bottom around the trans oil pan area.but i think that when u replace the gasket to the intake manifold u have to drain or bleed a couple of hoses right?in its one of those hoses the one that was disconected and think thats were all the coolant or water came out.I came back home and the mngr said he would call me as soon as he found out what was going on.

Re: My 01 Impala & My Pep Boys Experiece.help plz

The first problem was taking it to Pep Boys. The ones in my area have a bad reputation for repair, and are overpriced. My mother-in-law took her '93 Explorer to them because her rear view mirror came off. They charged her $32 to put it back on. She's disabled and knows nothing about cars and they knew it, and instead of having me put it back on for her, she decided she knew what she was doing
She made the mistake of taking her vehicle in to them again a few months later to put on some tires. They called her back and told her she immediately needed to have new brakes on the front as the ones on there were old, and the pads were worn down to almost nothing,( she just had a brake job done about 4 weeks prior.) I came with her to the shop to find out what they meant, and when I started asking questions, was told to take the vehicle and leave the premises. Not very trustworthy.:

Re: My 01 Impala & My Pep Boys Experiece.help plz

So im back from Pep Boys, long story short this hose that i mentioned earlier thats connected to a tube or metal hose that goes to the manifold was "torn" something that was not there last nite, it was just disconnected, but did wanna argue with themand the mng said if I paid the tow service he would fix it for free a 120$ job , tow service 70 bucks,so hopefully this is the end of this , but beware of Pepboys.

Pay no attetion to the stacic in the background.
Let us know what they say or find after they check it out.
Like Venture owner says Pp boys may have been a mistake but it is done done now.
Stay on there case be nice but firm and let them know they may have to talk to your lawyer if they give you any head.
