Cool Grind noise during quick turn

I was at a stop today, and had to do a quick left turn to cross the road and beat traffic. As I did the quick acceleration with the wheel already turned, I heard a griding noise - kind of like the 4x4 was catching, I think. I verified it was in 2hi.

It's a 2001 4x4 with 108k miles.

Any idea?
Thanks

Re: Grind noise during quick turn

CV joint is going or the 4x4 was partially engagged.

Also could just be the rotor grinding against the dust shields which commonly happens.
