Interrior Dissasembly
Hey guys,
I just need to know if yall have any websites that show how to take apart the interrior of a 99 silverado ext cab. Im goin to put fatmat down to reduce road noise. I just need to take out the seats, center console, rear seat, and carpet. I 've taken out the rear seat, that Isn't hard, but just need to know anything i might come across. Anything will help. Thanks guys. |

Re: Interrior Dissasembly
Don't know a diagram, but it really shouldn't be all the hard. Just move one piece at a time, bolt by bolt. I would separate out the bolts into differnent baggies though.

Re: Interrior Dissasembly
you will need a 7mm (I think) socket or nut driver for the door panels etc. most all the interior screws are the same size. so geta baggy and collect them all. Also a lot of the parts just "pop" off. make sure you thoroughly inspect for screws though before trying to pry. If you stress this plastic a little too much you get a white spot in th eplastic that appears and will never go away.

Re: Interrior Dissasembly
the top of the console will pop off and then there will be some 10 mm bolts that take it loose from the floor and the seats just unbolt and remove and trim panels along door seal will just pop up. then pull out carpet should be a fairly easy task. i did the same thing putting sound deadening all over and made a huge difference.

Re: Interrior Dissasembly
disconnect the battery and wait a little bit before disconnecting wiring just to be on the safe side it would suck to get rolled out of it by a deploying airbag
