Re: Auto Down drivers window Question
Check or replace the module in the driver's door.

Ordinarily it's just a bad switch, which you should be able to test with a meter, but I think it also goes to the GEM. I'll look at the wiring diagram tomorrow for you. You probably won't be able to buy just one switch, they most likely want you to replace the whole assembly so you might want to check the bone yard for parts too, but first let's find out for sure what is wrong

Re: Auto Down drivers window Question
Yep, the Generic Electronic Module (GEM) controls the One-Touch Down (OTD) relay. Either could be faulty, but it would certainly be nice if it's only the relay. Power to the OTD relay coil is provided by an accessory relay as well. Other functions should fail to work if the accessory relay is faulty. There is a separate pole in the driver's window switch to activate the OTD feature through the GEM, so you'll need to check that circuit out as well.
If you hold the button to roll the window down, it works fine, just not the one-touch down? Did it ever work for you (so you know you're trying to activate it correctly)? Are you familiar with relays and understand how to test them? The OTD relay is located in the Central Junction Box. -Rod |
