5600rpm sputter
i posted a while back about my car sputtering at higher RPM's multiple people told me to do a simple tune up so i did the following
new serpentine belt new supercharger belt new fuel filter new spak plugs new wires 180 thermostat battery } }needed replacing alternator } before it was a feeling like my traction control was just kicking in so it felt like a series of bumps in the road. now its just one hard jolt. then it drives fine for the next couple hundred RPM's then it shifts and the rest of the gears are fine if it was still a slight misfire then id feel it in all gears throughout the RPM range. i duno some help would be great

Re: 5600rpm sputter
Are you using Bosch spark plugs and ignition wires?

well before i did my tune up it needed it sooo badly. i use to work in a shop and was taught the max is 6 cracks per inch. on both of my belts i counted 30+ cracks per inch. so i replaced them. the wires were not ac delco so obviously not stock so theres been work done. the pugs were NGK again not stock but when removed were black black black and way out of gap. Bosch just came out with a brand new plug call Bosch fusion. they were 9.56 a plug so i hope i dont have to go back to stock on those. but you are recommending i try it??

Re: 5600rpm sputter
Bosch plugs and wires are JUNK. Stick with OEM AC-Delco (although NGK makes many Delco Platinum tip plugs, so they should be OK). I'd say its the Bosch wires that are the issue.

Re: 5600rpm sputter
I agree 100% on the issue of Bosch parts. For spark plugs try the AC Delco Iridium 41-101 if you are stock. Modded Autolite Copper Core. Third choice Autolite Platinum (AP606/605). NGKs work too.
The wires that I know work with the least problems are the AC Delco Premium Silicone 7mm, Taylor Spiro Pro 8.0mm and MSD 8.0/8.5 mm.

Re: 5600rpm sputter
Our cars hate Bosch. Stick with OEM for wires, and maybe autolite for plugs. And whatever you do, do NOT put iridium or platium plugs in your car!

Re: 5600rpm sputter
I GOT MY CAR SCANNED
AND HERE ARE THE RESULTS ok heres the results to the scan that i got done on my car. if i can possibly get some further in depth details on what each means that would be great P0172 fuel trim system rich bank P0230 Fuel pump relay control P1363 Ignition coil control low voltage P1362 IC cylinder 2 not toggling after enable also we took her for a spin while hooked up and when im open throttle my knock goes up to +6 so we think maybe the size of my filter should be smaller, get auto lite 104's for my plugs and get the ubend delete and it should go away.

ok im going crazy nothing is helping me. ive been searching all over everything differnt club sites, differnt forums, differnt search engines and all im getting is exaclty what i put up there so i obviously already know P0172 means Fuel trim system rich bank. but what in the world does that mean. thats like a fragemented run on sentence with 3 different languages. i need some kind of write up that actualy makes sense to me i had a guy post something on on www.clubgp.com and it made just as much sense to me as IC cylinder 2 not toggling after toggle. GGGRRRRRR is it safe to be driving my car with these codes going can someone tell me that

DTC P0172 indicates the system is in a rich trim mode. Ideal fuel trim = zero. Greater than zero indicates the PCM is adding fuel to compensate for a lean condition (P0171). If fuel trim is less than zero the PCM is reducing the amount of fuel to compensate for a rich condition. Here is the course of action per the GP GM service manual: Check all vacuum hoses at intake system. PCV Valve Possible throttle body blockage (clean input screen and body) IAC (idle air controller valve) Check fuel injectors (bad o-ring seal) MAF sensor EGR valve Check 02 sensor (before CAT) On the IC toggling problem it is complex and the remedies can vary from replacing all suspected components to wiring/PCM problems and even a bad CAT convertor. Here are some old posts on DTC 1361, P1362 and P1363 related to ignition control circuits. http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbul...ighlight=p1362 http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbul...ighlight=p1362
