97 cavalier engine question.

My girlfriends uncle needs to replace the motor in a 97 cavalier 5spd. He is wondering if he can get the motor and the tranny out the top, or if he needs to take the tranny off first. Any info / tips is appreciated. thanks.

Re: 97 cavalier engine question.

I would Take the motor out by itself and just leave trany in. Alot easyer taking motor out the top by itself. I have removed and replaced 30 of them so far and the top is the best way.
