1986 running bad

We have a 1986 D21 pickup with the 2.4 L (Z24) engine. The engine is having trouble starting in the morning and runs very sluggish until the engine warms up. Once warm the problem seems to go away.

Tried to change the ECM but the truck would not start at all. Changed it back and it will start but still runs sluggish.

Tried to check for codes it will not blink 4 times but does give codes. Codes are 13, 23, 24.

Any ideas?

Re: 1986 running bad

Why would the coolant sensor have anything to do with why the truck is running like $hit?

I mean the truck sounds like it is not getting enough gas wanting to stall out.

Re: 1986 running bad

the engine is run by a computer .
the computer is getting no signal from that sensor.

when you first start the truck it is cold.
the computer does not reads this so it does not regulate the fuel for a cold engine .
when it does warm up it is fine.

change the part .
