Hey there I'm new to this site and don't know much about cars. I want to though. My car is a 1992 honda civic vtec sohc eg 3 door. And I was wondering how much horsepower does my car have? And what type of engine to I have? Like a b18 or b16 or whatever they are. Thanks and be mean if you could answer these questions

Re: New: Please help? Civic VTEC!?!
Welcome to the forums. You can find all engine swap information in the sticky at the top of this section labled "The COMPLETE 92-00 Civic Owners Engine Swapping Guide!! "
That thread will tell you basically what you need to know about your engine as well as what other engines can be put into your car. I'm not certian about this but it sounds like you have a 92 Civic Si. If so, you have the D16Z6. It's the SOHC 5th Gen. Si and Ex engine pushing 125hp @ 6600 rpm and 106 lb.-ft of torque @ 5200 rpm. If you do have an SI then the begining of your VIN should read 2HGEH3*8 if you have an automatic transmission then the astrik will be a 4, if it's a manual then it should be a 3. If you vin doesn't match this then you need to check your engine code to determine what type of engine you have. The code is located on the block where I've marked it in the picture. ![]() Here's what it should look like. ![]() Sorry the second pic is shabby but I don't have a Z6 (yet) to take a picture of. If your engine code isn't D16Z6 then PM me and I'll help you figure out what you have. |
