2.8 to 4.3 engine swap 88 s10

could somebody please help? would like to know if anyone knows what problems and parts are required to change from a 2.8 v6 700r4 4X4 to a 4.3 5 speed 4X4? for example, engine mounts, frame mounts, cooling fans, exhaust manifolds, etc... installation of clutch pedal? ecm and wiring harness or just a prom change? any info would be appreciated? thanks

the swap should be fairly simple. the hardest part will be the clutch pedal. I don't think that you would have to change the wiring harness. I would advise you to use a 4.3 ECM though, it should plug right in. As for the motor and tranny mounts, I would advise going to a junk yard or something to get the parts, but replace all worn parts with new ones. You may also want to consider a higher gear if you want you plan to use the truck on the highway. If I remember correctly the 2.8 used a lower gear, numerically higher, than the 4.3.

I have an 88 s10 blazer as well, 4X4, and is already a five speed and have been thinking about the bigger v6 for awhile also. that 2.3 is a little too guttless going up a grade. keep me updated on what u find out penski. thanks
