It should, but the only thing I can think is they might have different transmissions.
The 01 might have the AX4S and the 03 more than likely has the AX4N. If you want to check, look at the bottom of the transmission pan ... if it says AXOD, AXOD METRIC, AXOD-E or AX4S it is the AX4s, if it says AX4N or AF50N(or somethign like that), you have the AX4n transmission. Edit, I guess that really depends on what you are swapping. If you are just swapping the engine, it doesn't really matter as long as you keep the computer with the right transmission.
