EGR valve, EGR sensor

I have recently changed my egr valve and egr sensor (02 f150) and my service engine soon light keeps comming back on after 5 days had the light reset still came back on should i take the sensor back and get a new one.
any ideas this last time the guy at auto zone told me that it wasnt getting info.he said to check that the sensor was pluged in and it was. someone please advise im lost.

Little more info would help.
What engine and what code no.
Is it the electronic EGR valve.
Have you ckecked the EGR ports?

For some reason on a ford when the EGR sets it is the DFPE sensor. Also ford parts say to clean the inlet to the egr a friends was plugged so bad he had to drill it out. My 97 I was able to blow out with an air hose. Also a leaking piece of tubing to the pcv valve will also set a low flow code.
