replace fuel pump????
Hey everyone!! I have a 1993 G.V. 3.3 with just under 180,000 had 132,000 when purchased. Will be driving to Cincy, (about 1100 each way) at xmas. Should I replace the fuel pump before I leave. Would hate to break downwhile on vacation. Had a 94 e150 and the fuel pump went out at around 165,000. So what do you all think. Thanks.

Re: replace fuel pump????
I'd have to agree with ViperGG for the most part. There is no way of knowing.
My GV quit at 175k I managed to limp it home the 27 miles but had to be pushed the last 2. If it were me going that far I just rent a car or suv for the trip. Something that I would consider buying when it's time to put the GV to rest. If you do break down the rental co would get a replacement for you to carry on with your trip and in the end your GV would be at home waiting your return. |

Re: replace fuel pump????
Thanks guy's for the replies. I know you can't give an exact mileage as to when a fuel pump will go out. I was just looking for some general consesus as to how long the generaly last. As far as the van in general everything is good and I think I won't have a problem with engine/tranny.
