Question HUGE blind spot

I have a huge blind spot. I have an 07 AVEO5 (the hatchback) and i have this huge blind spot, and as i drive on the NYS thruway, i monitor where i can and cant see cars as i am driving and try to adjust my mirrors, to no avail. Did anyone else notice this or has any one else successfully eliminated the blind spot? any tips on this because i am so sick of checking my blind spot, or having cars sneak up on me, or ride along in my blind spot and then suddenly pop out of nowhere. I know I should check it anyway but i like to compulsively check my mirrors as i am driving so i know who/what is around at all times [] and when someone pops out, it startled me! lol anyways thanks for any help...

Re: HUGE blind spot

Before I got rid of my 2006, I went to the car parts store and bought some stick on small convex stick on mirrors to put in the corners of the rear view mirrors. They eliminated the blind spots and they stay on in the car wash if you make sure your mirrors are clean before sticking them on.

Re: HUGE blind spot

Blind spots aren't peculiar to any specific car. They're mostly a function of where you're comfortable with your mirror positions and the scope of your own peripheral vision.

The stick-on convex mirrors are an excellent solution. Putting them on is always one of the first things I do with a new (to me) car.

Re: HUGE blind spot

I have the 2004 sedan, to get rid of a possible blind spot, I removed the two headrests in the back seat.

I agree, stick-on convex mirrors is a good solution. But if you wanna gain more prestige, change your side view mirrors with Mercedes C200 or BMW 325i, they have double convex mirrors, if you don't wanna replace the whole housing and brackets, change the mirror only, bring it to a glass specialist so they can make it fit to Aveo housing.

And the second thing, just get use to the blind spot, if you're used to it, you'll get more aware of cars coming from your side.

Re: HUGE blind spot

stickon convexs are great. they make such a difference. i went down to the parts store and bought some. they were like 3$ for a pack of 2. best 3$ i ever spent on that lil car.

Re: HUGE blind spot

Definately do the stick-on convex mirrors. The hatchs are notorious for the blindspot, and the sedan model isnt that bad at all. Its nice when you can switch lanes on a busy freeway without having to look back...
