Angry Custom Black Housing Corners

Okay, got a question...

On my OEM corner lenses, a long time ago, I popped the lenses of using a heat gun and painted the chrome housing under the clear part of the lens black. Unfortunately, I cracked the shit out of the lenses in the process of popping them off...

So, I bought another set of OEM corners and did the same thing. This time, I was able to pop them off without cracking the lenses, but I did melt the mounting bracket a bit so it was mishapen (no big deal, just had to get creative to mount them). The problem was that when I put the lenses back on the housings, I used hot glue. When the weather got hot, the lenses on both sides came off while I was driving. So, I've been driving around without corner lenses for a while.

I bought another set of OEM corners, and on the first one I tried to pop the lense off, I cracked it into pieces...

Does anyone know of a better way to go about this? I know that CZ-R used a dremel and cut the housing from the back and glued that back together, but I'm hoping someone has a better method for popping the lenses off...

I'm tired of paying for corner lenses ($26 each side with new bulbs), and I don't wanna get pulled over for not having lenses. The bulbs still work and all, but it looks mad gay with the rest of my car.

There was another guy that put his headlights in the oven. U could try that but I would suggest leaving the door open & watching it closely.

By the way, now that u did some installing ur gonna have 2 update ur list in ur sig.

Good luck on ur corners.... ur car is nice.

I'd still have to do the same thing with those. I don't want chrome. I need black housing, cuz my head-lights are the black-housing projectors, and chrome housing corners (OEM or Clears) look retarded next to them...

I've ordered 3 sets of clears before. One place sent me clears for a 90 teg, and the other two never showed up... So screw it. I've spent WAY too much on my corner lenses...

That's one of the places I ordered from... They were good when I ordered my projectors from them. Just haven't gotten around to bitching at them about my corners... ARGH.

Question Does the black still reflect light?

So...how are the reflective quality of the black painted corners? Do they still reflect light well enough at night ?

I currently have the $15 APC clear corners with amber bulbs...That works OK, but if I went to the black projector headlights (which look awesome on your car ci5ic) I would want to do the black to the corners too..even now they are too "bright" and chromey compared to the stock lights.

Thanks
