92 sunbird no start!

was checking out a 92 sunbird 2.0L of my budddies, he was driving down the
road and it died, now wont start at all, i was checking possible issues, no blown fuses, put 4 gal of fuel in it and checked, has fuel and has spark, has a new coil on it. from what i could see of the timing belt looks good, but maybe jumped? tried running it off carb cleaner, wouldnt go, no codes in ecm any ideas??? if you crank it for about 20secs maybe 1 time it will sound like it wants to fire than doesnt????

Re: 92 sunbird no start!

Check the timing or do a compression test. This sounds like the timing chain/belt has jumped and not allowing the car to start. A compression test will confirm whether the valves are opening and closing at the proper times to allow compression.
