Head unit

Hello. I am new at all this car audio stuff. I just bought a speaker box, amp, and wiring kit. Is the head unit the cars cd player? If so mine dont have any rca jacks on the back. Is there some type of adapter I can get? I have a factory delco cd player in my 98 chevy malibu. thanks

Re: Head unit

yes, the head unit is the CD or tape player. The adapter is called a line output converter, also any amp that has "hi level inputs" can accept input straight from a speaker wire.

Best Buy, Circuit City, places like that usually have them.
