Question Countach engine removal

I am planning to take the engine out of our 1979 LP400S this fall. The main purpose is to repair a bad oil leak in the transmission case. While the engine is out I hope to have the clutch/flywheel rebuilt (probably at Centerforce in Phoenix?), put in a new slave cylinder, new motor mounts?, and some cleaning.

What else should I look for, replace, worry about while the engine is out? Anyone that has gone through this has probably had some things that I have not anticipated. HELP!

While the engine is out, I plan to replace the value guides, do the valves and generally look over the heads and cams, etc. What else might I suspect; the car has only about 26K miles. What is the best material and source of value guides for the early 4L motor (totally European stock, no emission stuff, no cats--this is the 375hp @ 8,000 rpm motor with the 6 45DCOE Webers).

ANY tips on this project would be greatly appreciated. THANK YOU.

David Anderson

Hmmm, I hate to dissapoint you, but the people here don't exactly own these kinds of cars, but this doesn't make them bad people, it just means you are probably the first here with an exotic car. Do you have pictures of it?

No I am not a lamborghini owner yet, but give me time and i WILL have a red '99 Diablo VT Roadster with a tan leather interior!!!!! Mark my word!!! yeah, I have been talkin to some people about help with importing things and stuff, but I am stll waiting for word from abstract because evidently him and lambo boy are gonna hook up and do some stuff.... I dont know what they are gonna need me to do, but hopefully I can get at least some profit from something so I can start my way up the "shadeone owning a Lamborghini" goal. heh God, I would seriously cut my right testicle off with a dull butterknife for one of these things!
