94 skylark no crank / start problem

Hello all
My 2.3 QUAD 4 94 skylark just up and quit on me. Previously it ran great, I moved in the driveway and it hasen't run since then. When you turn the key it won't even crank. I thought it was the starter so I replaced it, however that wasn't the problem. The fuseable links all look good,all the rest of the wiring and fuses look ok. I was thinking it could be the neutral safety switch, any one know where it's located? On the trans or on the collumn? Any other ideas?

They are normally on the transmission and the shift linkage tells when it is in neutral or park. Standard shift is close to the clutch pedal. It probably has two wires and use an ohm meter to check for continuity. Try wiggling the shift lever or putting it in neutral to start.

The car is an automatic, I tried going through the gears with the key turned to the start position. Still nothing happenes. I will dig around to see if I can find that neutral safety switch. I do have a dvm so I can check the continuity when I find it. If it's just two wires I can jumper it to see if the starter will turn.

The starter on this quad 4 is difficult to get to. I had to take off the intake runners,fuel rail along with tons of other stuff to get to it. I want to make sure everything works like it should before I put it back together. I will post info. on what I find.

The car in the picture looks bigger than a skylark. Normally this is on the transmission shift linkage shouldn't be hard to find.

Yes you are correct, the car in the pic if a full size Lincoln. I hang out in the Lincoln page mostly, but I do have some other project cars. The neutral safety switch is right on top of the trans where the shift cable connects.
Well problem solved with the Buick. If I could kick myself for over looking the simple things I would. The problem was the starter relay, I was looking at everything else but that. I won't make that mistake again. I damaged the old starter by taping it with a hammer, so I had to replace it any way. The only bonus to this whole deal was I found a problem with one of the injectors that I would have never found. When I took the fuel rail off I found that the #1 injector o ring was pinched where it goes in to the engine. I am sure that that was causeing a major vacuume leak. I replaced all the vac lines as well while I was working on it, they were all rotted and cracked. So the car ran ok before, but I am sure it will run even better now.
