Making Shift Boot

I installed my short shifter, then i cut that down about two inches. And I took off my stock shift boot. I am wanting to make one because i know that anyone I buy will be to tall. I was wondering if anyone had any ideas of what material i could use to make a boot out of? I would need to have a peice big enough to form a rectangle at the bottom and then come up to a circle. Thanks guys.

Re: Making Shift Boot

Go on ebay and check out different types or material. People on Jbo used some pretty cool carbonfiber look-a-like interior vinyl for different things in their interiors.

Re: Making Shift Boot

Silk? That'd probly be pretty sweet in a low rider/pimp mobile. I don't think it'd work for a cavy tho.

Re: Making Shift Boot

Short shifters are everywhere, www.gravanatuning.com www.turbotechracing.com www.aplusperformance.com ....everywhere. Unless you're looking for one for an automatic, they don't make any.

Re: Making Shift Boot

if ur still wondering about material, they might be expensive but try the carbon fiber like material or lizard skin type material.

CarbonFiber Material:
http://www.jamestowndistributors.com...%29&match_type=

Animal Skin Fabrics:
http://www.interiorsurfaces.com/i_LeatherSuede.shtml

idk if u can buy the animal skin from that site, but the skins they include are buffalo, calf, deer, elk, goat, elephant, rhino, ostrich, pig, snake, frog, lizard, and stingray. personally, i think its sad, but they would work good.
