Wink The Honda S2000. How high is your red line?

Tamiya's S2000 Painted with TS Metallic Black and top coated with Gunze B501 clear. The seats are painted with TS Bright Red. The wheels are Fujimi 18" Workmeister's, I'm not a big fan of chrome wheels but this really make the colors work IMHO.
I used MV lenses for the tailights, leaving the cover off.
I carbon fibered the rear boot/cover, center console and door panel uppers.

Show us the engine!

Great model, great colors, great choice of wheels. I never even noticed the carbon fiber! My only critique would be that it would look perfect if you could vacuform some thin clear covers over the taillights...the kit versions are too thick, but it looks like it needs something. Of course similar comments can be made about my models, there's always something better to do...but do I have the time to bother or just get it done?

I've robbed a Maisto version for the LHD dashboard (this was long before Tamiya's version, and about $20 cheaper) and stock 5 spoke rims...that is IF I build it stock! As a Miata owner, the S2000 is one of a tiny handfull of cars that could ever replace it :^) And yes, I'll take an S2000 any day. Boxsters are TOO common! Gotta have the red interior.

This is one case where Tamiya really should have done an engine. I see S2000's at car shows and love the engine setup and modifications they do.

I like it too, though I feel the rear lights needed different treatment, maybe Altezza style if you wanted to be adventurous!
Love the colour and the wheels look amazing! Well done!
I found the rear lense covers looked OK on mine. I think the third brake light needs black round it, which isn't mentioned in the instructions, unless it is different for the US car!

s2000 engine

here's the s2000 engine you guys have been looking for! it would have been better as part of the tamiya kit itself though. Anyone pick this one up? kind of pricey for 4500 yen, its like a separate kit

s2000 engine

No. I don't care and actually prefer my models not to roll, It isn't a toy.

I don't know what MV stands for, but they are headlights for model electric trains. You will see these used often on my models, for example the tail lights on the 206, driving lights on the RX-7. They are made in several different sizes. When unpainted, they look very much like the modern projector type lights. Find them in hobby stores specializing in trains. Thanks for the kudos!
