Re: bump stops????

How do those help keep the rear from grinding? Mines got the same problem. Got some 18's with 275's on em and every time I turn a corner all you hear is a screech. I'm guessing mine doesnt have them either, because I've never seen anything like those on that website on the rear of my car. I have seen a place that looks to be where they would go. But theres just 2 holes and nothing else.

They keep the rear axle from hitting the frame in a full jounce condition (called a jounce bumper) (when you land your car and all the weight of the car + momentum push down on the body). does anyone know if they are even necessary on this car? Summit doesn't show them for my year ... doesn't mean they don't have it though.

The turning issue you have is front tire hitting the inside wheel well or power steering pump whine, or bad rack & pinion, check out the inside of your front tire, sounds like it will show wear, if there is nothing there then check your power steering fluid, look at the rack & pinion (what turns the front wheels) for leakage (mines about shot too).

No, the front tires turn just fine. The grinding sound I get only happens when my car starts to lean while in a turn which is then causing the rear tires rub on the wheel well. I already tried grinding down some of the wheel well, and that helped a little bit, but it still does it. So are the bump stops supposed to help keep the car from leaning or something? Would they even help in my situation?

Poly rear bushings can help keep the axle from moving back and fourth as bad when you hit a hard corner.

If its rubbing only on one side the rear end may be a little off-centered. A adjustable panhard rod can fix it if its only rubbing on one side.

Air shocks can help keep the tires from rubbing too. I havent seen air shocks listed for fourth gens, but third gen shocks will fit. The only problem is, the back will sit up higher once they are pumped up.

Re: bump stops????

my brothers z28 did the same, every little bump we hit it scraped SO bad, you could smell the rubber. He had Torque Thrust 2's 17's with 275's in back. He never was able to get the bump stops because the car craped out.
