Stealth vs. neon

Saturday night as i was leaving a radio station that my friends dj at, one of my friends told me he wanted to race me in his neon so i agreed and we went down to a road a little out of town. We each had a friend in the car and when we got there he wanted to go from a stop (he has a mid 90's neon 5spd) and i said we should go from a 25 roll and he wouldnt do it. So we agreed on a 10 mph roll (which is almost as bad as a stop for me) and we lined up. I put it down to first and we started rolling, my friend who was riding with me put his hand out the window and signalled 3-2-1 but it was dark and i couldnt see his hand and he didnt yell it so the neon got about a car jump before i hit it. He got about 3 car lengths in my 1st gear and then 2nd came and he got 1 more and then i started pulling pretty good. I wound out 2nd about 2 and a half cars back and it shifted to 3rd at about 85 and then i pulled REALLY hard, me and my friend were laughing cause i was pulling so hard. I blew past him at about 90-95 and looked down and i was going 100 and looked back and he was about 5-6 cars back. We slowed down and left the area and that was my fun for the night.

Re: Stealth vs. neon

So he lost 10 cars? Are you sure he didn't stop racing after putting the first 4 on you?

Re: Stealth vs. neon

He claimed to have let off at 75 but i asked why i didnt see any brake lights or why his car was still tilted back like he was flooring it and why it sounded like it was WOT when we passed him and he just said "uhhh" like he was looking for an answer. I think his 4th gear is weak cause thats when we started passing him in my friends 92 auto z24 last week when he said he wanted a top speed run.

Re: Stealth vs. neon

Yeah I doubt his 4th gear has much power left in it.

Re: Stealth vs. neon

Nice run. If you would have started at 20-25+ it would have been a few bus lengths lol. Damn tall gearing.......I love it and I hate it.

Re: Stealth vs. neon

Nice race...that was the one thing I liked about the auto n/a, the top end on it is pretty decent.
