How are you layering your colours on? I have an art project that I need to use coloured pencils on and I'm curious. Do you layer lighting that go over with white to smooth it out?

Yeah I shade the colors, in this case black, then I go over it with white,
Or if iam making the shadows or making a color darker i but the black down first then the color

Prisma color has a colorless blending pencil that ive been meaning to get because white works but it kinda changes the color eg over the black it gives it a blue tint instead of just grey,

If i dont like the color the white does to it i use a blending stump for now with a eraser shield, or just a peice of tissue paper, untill i order those colorless blenders

yeah i know its kinda cheating but, its a habit now and i like perfection, if i didnt use it and it was off alittle i wouldnt finish it, i would lose interst

Thats why i try to stay away from saying i draw good, i usually say i color good, anyone can draw like me with the grid if they wanted to

Re: Suzuki GSX-R WIP

Great work, especially with the cheap pencils, i gotta try some

My opinion about the grid technique and tracing the outline is fine, there is no wrong or right way but this is just my opinion.

there is another thing you could try, (if you want of course), for example you do the drawing with a normal pencil, then measure it, then see whats off and whats good in it.. and then trace it, but get the wrong parts fixed, you can do this as many times as needed until you think its perfect. I used to do it before sometimes. Then i started the art/graphic design uni, they taught ( or well, tried to teach lol, and still are trying to ) us to see and measure things. but we only draw/paint from real objects/people, no photos.
Its very different btw . When i joined that uni, i remember having a trouble drawing simple geometrical objects from still life from the points of view they placed me. It was funny i really felt like an idiot. lolol

anyway your work is good keep it up!

MAN! Your stuff is FREAKIN amazing! That almost looks like a photo, aside from the colored pencil strokes. Beautifull work!
