96 jetta problem????

Iv'e owned my 96 gls for about a year now and it has 156000 miles , great car , but it starting to bog out while i'm accelerating. when i take it out of gear and put it back the problem seems to go away . i'm getting concerned because it is happening more and more. i'm not sure what the problem is and i was hopeing maybe someone that reads this might know more than me about this. i'd rather not just go out and buy a clutch if that isn't going to fix it. someone help please!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: 96 jetta problem????

Are you dropping the RPM's too much before you accellerate? Check your air filter and other intake components and sensors.
