NEED help Fuel problem

i was cleaning my lumina out one day when it starting idleing rough so i taped the gas and it shut off the batt. drained and was time for a new one anyway so i baught a new new installed. the engine turns over now but when i touch the gas to much its shuts off and to little and it shuts off maybe someone can help me before i bring it to the shop. thanks

What year car, does it start right back up, need more info here! What does and "too little mean"?

ok its a 93 lumina 3.1 70k have'nt had any major problems before.

I meant that i have to push the pedal a little bit if i push it to much it will also cause it to turn off. Iam thinking that it could be a fuel injector problem but iam not sure.

check your fuel pressure, it should be in the range of 44 -47 lbs.. if it's lower than that have your fuel pump checked..

The throttle position sensor could be giving fits, also.

So it turns out that i have a bad fuel pump they want 350-400 to replace it guess i gotta pay. i heard its a pain the ass to do that job myself

I'm not sure about the older body lumina's, but the newer body one's are a piece of cake to swap.

The 93 model has to have the tank dropped to change the fuel pump. It doesn't have the access door in the trunk like newer W-bodies.
