Would you pay $1600 for a used engine

I called a local engine rebuilder they said , Installing a used engine $1600 ( $1440 US) or $2200 ($1980) for rebuilt.

What would you do, To me it doesn't make much sense paying $1600 for a used engine. later

Re: Would you pay $1600 for a used engine

Well since you live in Cananad, everything is expensive.

If the engine cost is for 1600$, and includes installation and has low miles(50K or under) then yes its worth it.

I'd charge about $1000-1500 just to install the motor in a FWD car.

Shop around, you can probly find one cheapr but you get what you pay for.

Good Hunting!

I did ask a local GM dealer and they said it was a 12 hour job plus parts at $125 per hour that works out to $1500 ( $1350 US) You are not that far off. I guess $1600 for engine and labour sounds fair.

The amount sounds fair to me especially since it includes the installation. If that was just for the engine then it would be quite expensive.
