Can someone please explain the fad/eccentricity behind cars like the one below? Surely they don't or can't legally drive these cars on the streets in Japan. Pic and more like it are from the link provided.

Those are some seriously UGLY cars. I'm not sure how anyone can get behind a trend like this. Nothing aesthetically pleasing about those. I don't get it.

Just remember, this is a country where you can get soiled knickers with a picture of the girl who wore them (Sealed in a ziplock bag for errr....Staleness of course) from a vending machine...
