Question 97 Aurora, Traction/ABS/ Check Engine Lights On

I bought a 97 Aurora recently from the Nissan dealership where i work cuz it was pretty cheap and in great condition, but the Traction control light, ABS light, and Check Engine light are on all the time, and i'm not sure why. I was told it was missing some sort of 'front left hub', or 'front hub assembly', or front left wheel hub', he wasn't exactly sure because they were just going to send it to Auction. Does anyone know exactly what would be causing that? or even what it's really called and where i would find it? I'd just take one from an Aurora at an auto wrecker if i knew what it looked like, so any help would be greatly appreciated

Welcome to AF, only a scan will tell you what these codes/lites mean.

agreed - get it scanned (AutoZone does it for free) to see why the SES light is on.

The tracs and ABS light is likely on due to a sensor in one of the hubs (Left front I guess depending on how reliable your information was). It could be a s simple as a bad connection or wire but usually it need replacing. Not a bad job to do and the hub assembly is about $125.

here is a great thread and how-to with pics

I did both of mine. It may also make a buzz or whining noise depending on how bad it is. The link provided is correct but mine had torqx bolts. You might also look at this site: http://www.howardm.net/dred98/underhood.php

It has some good info also.
