Deciding....

ok guys need a little help deciding what to do. is it best for me to buy a 93 grand marquis for $700 and drop a new engine(exterior & interior look great), or just buy another one that im looking at (92) for $900 that needs an ignition switch?

Re: Deciding....

Buy both, Then you can use the ignition switch out of the 93.

Re: Deciding....

i might just do that......even though im working with a budget i think i can make something happen. only thing i hate is that, one of the grand marquis engine sound like a freight train engine.....it sounds terrible. thats why i just want to drop the engine.

Re: Deciding....

If you have plans on dropping the engine out of the 93 into the 92 make sure that the 92 was made after 2/18/92, look for an overdrive button on the transmission shifter knob. If it does not have electronic overdrive the 93 engine will not bolt up to the 92 transmission. In this case you have an option of bolting on a 302 block or you can swap out the transmission from the 93 along with shifter, speedo, ecm. and a few wiring harnesses.
