2000 LeSabre, whine when turning

Please help - My LeSabre whines when turning. Noticebly when turning left. As the car warms the noise diminishes. Does this sound like pump or rack or something else? Thanks, Ed

How many miles are on your LeSabre? How is the PS pump fluid level?

Re: 2000 LeSabre, whine when turning

If it is doing it when turning left, one might think it is a bad cv joint on one side, but it could be a wheel bearing going bad or low on power steering fluid. I had to replace my left front wheel bearing at about 110,000. I put a salvaged one on because the new ones were so expensive. It was kind of a tough job for a wheel bearing. Remarkably, the cv joints have been fine and it has 162,000 on it now.
