purchase research

im lookin at possibly makin a pontiac purchase come tax return time. im lookin at a grand am/prix but cant decide wich one or which model or year. if any one has any ideas or suggestions let me know. preferable a four door model. does either four door model come in manual?

The Grand Prix is IMHO far superior to the Grand Am. The choice of engines is better and if you purchase a GTP the performance can be outstanding with very few modifications. The GT is also a good choice. The Grand Prix comes in both 2 or 4 door and has a better ride than the Grand Am.

As for the Grand Am the 3400 has had some issues. The 2.4 can be a good choice but it doesn't have the performance of the 3.4. None of the Grand Prix's come with a manual only automatics. I believe you can get the Grand Am in manual with most engines.

The '04 and later Grand Prix GTP's have more horsepower than the 97 to 03 models but you should be able to find the earlier models at a good price. Ultimately the decision is yours but like I stated the Grand Prix is my choice.
