95 gmc jimmy fuel injector location and install

I own a 95 GMC Jimmy and need to know the locations and how to install a new Fuel injector plus any additional parts that may need to be replaced with it. Any help, website, or manual that explains would be great thanks.

Welcome on your first post on AF.

We will need more info to help you..
You might even have 6 of them.
Are you sure that is what it needs?

Tips on getting a good answer to your questions.
People trying to answer your question do not have a crystal ball.
So give them all of the info you have like year make and model and engine and transmission and mileage.
Also cars engine and transmission service history or any recent repairs or problems.
Also a description of your problem and what it is doing or not doing.
If you have codes give up the code no.
And remember a code does not say replace the part but only points to the problem that you have to check out.
So to better help you give up all of the info you have on it.

Re: 95 gmc jimmy fuel injector location and install

Its a 1995 GMC Jimmy, 4.3liter vtec V6, and automatic transmission. I have had the fuel pump and catalytic converter replaced in the last 4 months. The problems started because I am getting poor gas mileage. Then the car starts and once its in gear and i push the accelerator and the rpms go up and then if i remove my foot it drops and cuts off. Another problem that hasnt been happening as much lately was my rpms would randomly go up and down as if i was tapping the accelerator and letting off really quick. Several mechanics have told me that my fuel injector has a crack or leaks possibly. The exhaust has a strong gas odor as if the engine isnt burning all the gas as well. It has about 111000 miles on it.

that almost definitely sounds like a bad iac valve ( idle air control ) try pulling off a vacum line and see if your idle recovers to normal after a few seconds - the engine will rev up high when you pull the line - give it 5 secomds or so to recover -if not -bingo! you can pull the brake booster vac hose .

Man, that's sounding awful familiar doesn't it MT-2500?

Re: 95 gmc jimmy fuel injector location and install

i am almost positive that it does have to do with the fuel injector though becuase they told me it has a crack and many of my friends that are mechanics told me that could cause the gas smell coming out of my exhaust

Just throwing parts at it may not fix it.
But proper testing is in order.
I would start with a fuel pressure and leak down test.
If a fast leak down you could have a crack in your nut kit or fuel rgulator.
Post back results.
