4wd problems

I have a 96 yukon. I have no 4wd. In the beginning the dash switch useto flash 4 low now it only lites when i turn key on. I was hopeing it was the switch so replaced it. It wasnt it. do you think it is the acuator? any help is apreciated

My bet would be the actuator. They are known to go out and they are a very easy fix. Im not sure if the electronic shifter will engage the transfer case wihtout the actuator. I know the manual style shifter will engage the transfer case but not engage the front axle if thats the case. Try putting it in 4 low and see if the transfer case engages (the low range feel will still work if it is). Try turning with it engaged. If its harder to turn than just 2wd then its more than likely the actuator.
